EXT. THE HOUSE — THE FRONT DOOR OPENS

The doorway close and filling the frame. Two smooth stone leaves swung back almost flat against the opening, and light pouring out of the gap as bare unmarked paper, spilling forward onto the paving.

THE FIRST OF TWO DOORS HE OPENS. The second is the skull door into the brain, opened the same way, so the second reads as a rhyme rather than a repeat. The leaves are the same stone as the wall with no rivet, hinge or straight edge, so they read as parts of the building that moved rather than joinery fitted into it. Blank centre measured 61.5 percent against 31 in the first version. MANAN IS KEYED INTO THE DOORWAY, never drawn.
